Functions of Relief Valve in Excavator Parts

    The relief valve is a critical hydraulic pressure control valve. It provides constant pressure relief, pressure stabilization, system unloading, and safety protection. External leakage may occur due to damaged O-rings, combined seals, or loose screws and fittings.

Functions:

1. Constant Pressure Relief: In a fixed-displacement pump throttle system, excess flow is relieved to the tank to maintain constant pump outlet pressure.

2. Pressure Stabilization: Installed in the return line, it creates back pressure for smoother movement.

3. System Unloading: A small solenoid valve connected to the remote port unloads the pump when energized.

4. Safety Protection: It opens only when pressure exceeds the set limit (10%–20% above normal working pressure) to prevent overload damage. Excessive wear of the cone or main spool causes internal leakage and affects performance. For genuine relief valves, please contact our supplier.
